This 40-hour MIL-STD course will cover the origins, theory, applicability and types of fiber optics currently in use. This course will include extensive hands-on exposure to light continuity checks, stripping techniques for M4 Optic cable, using lasers to determine signal variance and proper tool usage. Additionally, the students will fabricate single and multi-mode ST connectors, learn and demonstrate proper polishing techniques and the correct use of the fiber microscope. Students will also learn troubleshooting and repair techniques and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements.

This course will be invaluable to senior engineers, Electronic Technicians, Radio Electronics Technicians and anyone considering advancing to Electro-Technical Officer, Electro-Technical Rating or anyone who deals with fiber optics.
