I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ed Horton, the instructors and staff of Mid Atlantic Maritime for their professionalism, expertise and dedication in helping me achieve a mile stone in my career.
The path to third mate unlimited is a long and arduous journey full of ups and downs, yet I was guided in every way possible along the path to success by Ed Horton and his staff to successfully complete the seven tests required for third mate unlimited.
Mid Atlantic Maritime provides an academic but friendly environment to learn and the instructors will offer their personal time to answer questions on weekends and after hours.  The success of their students is paramount with everyone employed at Mid Atlantic!
This modern and up to date facility provided everything I needed to obtain the required assessments and certificates to submit a package to test for third mate and the test prep/self study with Ed Horton helped fine tune the classroom knowledge to successfully pass the USCG tests. I highly recommend this academy for those who want to advance their maritime career.

Any applicant who successfully completes the QMED – Electrician (MIDATL-383) course will satisfy the examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.15-9 for QMED – Electrician, provided the course completion certificate is presented within one year of training; AND receive credit for the OICEW assessments OICEW-3-1A, OICEW-3-1B, OICEW-3-1C and OICEW-3-1D.
